Fishing at St. Lawrence Outfitters

St. Lawrence Outfitters offers a range of fishing opportunities — from fully guided fishing trips to providing comfortable, affordable accommodations in the heart of the 1000 Islands region of Eastern Ontario.

Walleye Fishing

Walleye is one of the most popular sport fish in North America, known for being both challenging and rewarding to catch. The St. Lawrence River holds an impressive population of Walleye across all size and year classes. Average Walleye weigh 2–3 lbs, with fish in the 8–10 lb class also available.

While Walleye can be caught using many techniques, we primarily jig for them using:

  • Blade baits
  • Jigging raps
  • Spoons
  • Jig heads with minnow‑style plastic trailers

We also troll using bottom bouncers and worm harnesses when conditions call for it.

Smallmouth Bass

The St. Lawrence River has become a world‑famous Smallmouth Bass fishery, offering both high numbers of fish and exceptional trophy potential. In recent years, major U.S.‑based professional bass tournaments have helped showcase just how incredible this fishery is.

Our preferred method is to fish shallow using soft plastics, often sight‑fishing when conditions allow. Later in the season, we target deeper areas using:

  • Drop‑shots
  • Jigs
  • Carolina rigs

Northern Pike

During May and June, the river produces excellent Northern Pike fishing. Numerous weedy back bays provide ideal habitat for these ambush predators. We typically target pike using:

  • Jerkbaits
  • Spoons
  • Bucktail jigs

Yellow Perch

The St. Lawrence River offers outstanding Perch fishing year‑round. Known as one of the best‑tasting freshwater fish, yellow perch are extremely popular among anglers. It’s also a perfect option for families and young children — the action is often fast and consistent.

We are happy to clean and package your catch at the end of the day.
